Colorado National Speedway

Dacono’s three-eighths-mile paved oval, racing since 1965 and part of NASCAR’s local series, with Super Late Models, Pro Trucks, Figure 8s and more on Saturday nights from spring to fall, just off I-25.

Founded by Gene and Gerda Heffley in 1965, the Speedway runs more than a dozen divisions on its three-eighths-mile asphalt oval every Saturday night from spring through fall, with a no-smoking, no-alcohol family section at the finish line, driver meet-and-greets in the hot pit after the races and free parking. The track lists regular-event admission at $17 for adults and $8 for ages 5 to 12, with under-fives free, and allows sealed soft drinks and small soft coolers. On race days the pit gate opens at 1 pm, practice at 3, qualifying at 5:30 and racing at 6:30 sharp; take I-25 exit 232 from Denver or exit 235 and Highway 52 from the north. The City calls Dacono its home.
